Casting Calls
Current calls for film, TV, commercials and theatre — with requirements and how to apply.
How to apply for a casting call
This section lists current casting calls for films, TV series, commercials and theatre productions. Each call states the type of project, the profile being sought, the age range, the shooting dates and the application deadline.
Read the requirements carefully before applying: if you do not match the age, gender, height or language criteria, the application will not be reviewed. If you do match, make sure your profile carries up-to-date photos and a showreel.
What you need to know to prepare for a casting
Self-tape rules
Hold the phone horizontally, choose a plain wall as background and let the light fall on your face. Frame from the chest up, know the text by heart and keep the eyeline steady. Sending one uncut take is more convincing than an edited clip.
Choosing a monologue
The monologue should sit close to your age and type. Sixty to ninety seconds is enough, and the text should be in the language you speak most naturally. Showing emotion through changing rhythm works far better than raising your voice.
What to wear to an audition
Not a costume, but simple clothing that hints at the character. Fine patterns and shiny fabrics flicker on camera; solid colours that show the body line work best.
When do you hear back?
Usually only shortlisted candidates are contacted, within one to two weeks of the call closing. Silence does not mean your talent was dismissed — most often it is simply a question of type fitting the project.
